Xen Scott played at Reserve then proceeded to coach football at both Western Reserve and Case. He played in 1905 and then served as an assistant coach at WRU for four years. Scott was named head coach of WRU in 1910 and was head coach at Case in 1911, 1912 and 1913. While coaching in University Circle, Scott defeated teams such as Ohio State and Michigan. Later, Scott was coach at both Penn State and Alabama. His overall record at the four schools was 100-26-8.
