Edward (Ed) Trebets, an inside linebacker, was the first University Athletic Association Player of the Year in CWRU football history, earning the honor during his junior season in 1991, while also claiming an Honorable Mention to the Football Gazette All-America Team following the campaign.  He was a three-time All-UAA honoree, securing first team honors his junior and senior seasons and second team recognition as a sophomore, while leading the team in tackles in each of the three seasons.  His 364 career tackles are the fifth-most by a player in program history as of the date of his induction, and he earned the department’s Bill Grice, John Anderson, Arthur P. Leary and Philip K. “Nip” Heim awards during his time as a Spartan.  Trebets was also a member of the baseball team during his freshman and sophomore years, pitching in 14 games during his career.
