Je'Nine Nickerson was the first All-American and UniversityAthletic Association Player of the Year in program history. Anative of Berea, Ohio, Nickerson transferred to CWRU in 1999 andwas named to the All-University Athletic Association Second Team inher first season. As a senior, Nickerson led the UAA in reboundingwith a school single-season record of 293 boards. Her play garneredKodak All-America Honorable Mention and UAA Player of the Yearawards. Led by Nickerson, the Spartans posted a school-record 20wins (20-7 overall) and became the only team in program history toreach the NCAA Championship Tournament. In her two seasons,Nickerson averaged 12.0 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Apsychology/sociology double-major, Nickerson was named Arthur AsheJr. Sports Scholar Honorable Mention in 2001 and graduated cumlaude in 2002.
