A standout football player, Austin Platz was the younger brotherof Paul “Jud” Platz (WRU ’29), who was a chartermember of the Hall of Fame in 1975. Austin Platz played end,quarterback and defensive back for the Red Cats from 1927-30. In the 1930 Case-Reserve game, Platz intercepted a pass on thefirst play from scrimmage and returned it 70 yards for atouchdown.
