A two-sport student-athlete at the Western Reserve, Ed Hubachbuilt a lasting legacy on both the gridiron and the diamond. Acenterfielder and four-year letterman on the baseball team, Hubachled the Red Cats to a Presidents’ Athletic Conferenceco-championship in 1967 and the outright title a year later. A teamcaptain, Hubach earned All-PAC honors three times during hiscareer. Also a captain on the gridiron, Hubach was a three-yearletterman at safety and served as the team’s kick and puntreturn specialist. He earned All-PAC honors in football and earnedthe Sam Williamson Trophy, presented annually to the mostoutstanding scholar-athlete. Hubach was President of the Beta ThetaPi fraternity during his time at Western Reserve before leaving forthe Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine aftergraduation.
