Bob Del Rosa served Case Western Reserve University for 49 years with 46 seasons at the helm of the Spartan wrestling program.
As a wrestling coach, Del Rosa produced four national champions, 37 national qualifiers, 18 All-Americans and 35 Scholar All-Americans. In 1996, Del Rosa was inducted into the NCAA Division III Wrestling Hall of Fame.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Del Rosa served as assistant athletic director and worked primarily with compliance.
During his years with Case Institute of Technology then Case Western Reserve, Del Rosa also served as head coach for football, baseball and tennis in addition to being inducted into the Spartan Club Hall of Fame in 2006.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Del Rosa lettered three times in football and captained the 1958 Bearcats. He earned an M.S. from CWRU in 1970 and held the position of associate professor.
Affectionately, and with respect, he was known as "Coach D," as he embodied all that was good in the profession of coaching. He served as a mentor and friend to countless student-athletes, coaches and staff.
