Jack McIver, a 1960 graduate of Adelbert College, excelled inboth swimming and football. Earning four varsity letters as amember of the football team, McIver helped guide the WRU Red Catsto the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championship in 1958.The following season, he co-captained the football squad and earnedboth team most valuable player and All-PAC first-team honors.McIver was also named All-American Special Mention by Street &Smith’s Football Magazine in 1959. In the pool, McIver setmultiple school records in freestyle events as a two-year member ofthe team. His senior season, he was captain of the squad andfinished as the Red Cats’ top point scorer. McIver went on todental school and later started his own dental practice. He alsoexcelled as a nationally-ranked racquetball player and won multipleOhio state championships.
