John Cameron played three years of varsity basketball and earned two letters in football for the Rough Riders. On the hardwood,Cameron served as team captain during his senior season and was named All-Ohio by the Associated Press. On the gridiron, he distinguished himself as one of the Ohio Conference’s top running backs even though he weighed just 140 pounds. Following the 1932 season, the Cleveland News named Cameron the Outstanding Cleveland Athlete.
