David Kallevig was a wide receiver on the Case Western Reserve University football team from 2001-04, and was named the 2004 University Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Year (one of just four CWRU football players as of his inauguration into the Hall of Fame) after catching 70 passes for 965 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior campaign.  As of the date of his induction, he is the program’s career record holder with 3,015 receiving yards and 31 receiving touchdowns, second in school history with 203 receptions and third with 3,306 all-purpose yards.  Kallevig was a two-time All-UAA honoree, claiming first team honors in 2004 and second team recognition in 2002, and became the first CWRU football player ever to be named the UAA Rookie of the Year in 2001.  Kallevig was named CWRU’s Dr. David Hutter Male Athlete of the Year and received the Philip K. “Nip” Heim Award in 2005, in addition to being selected as the Bill Sudeck Rookie of the Year in 2002.   He was also a standout member of the track & field team, winning the 2004 UAA Championship in the javelin throw, and earning All-UAA honors as a member of the 400-meter and 1,600-meter relays in 2003.
