Brooke Beecher serves as the Sports Performance Nutritionist for Case Western Reserve University varsity athletes and is currently in her second stint as an Assistant Coach of the women's basketball team.
Beecher helped lead the Spartans to 20 wins over the last two season. She has mentored Kayla Characklis to all-region and all-UAA honors, while also guiding Sarah Mitchell to an all-UAA campaign in 2023-24, and saw Mya Hartjes claim All-UAA Second Team acclaim in 2024-25. She has previously served as a volunteer assistant coach for the team following her graduation, before stepping in as the team's full-time assistant coach for the 2017-18 campaign.
Beecher has been the owner and operator of Nutrition with Brooke since June 2020. A former CWRU women's basketball player herself, Beecher helps assess, educate, and counsel Spartan athletes on their nutritional needs to optimize performance.
Beecher provides each varsity team with two workshops per semester, customizing the session for each squad. Topics covered include hydration, timing of nutrition, healthy snacking, weight management and body composition, and supplements, among others. In addition, she is available for individual consultation with student-athletes and can provide valuable resources such as grocery lists, meal plans, and customized nutrition plans.
After receiving her undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve with a major in Nutrition and a minor in Sports Medicine in 2015, she went on to receive her Master's Degree in Nutrition, also from CWRU, in 2017. She is a registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a licensed dietitian with the State Medical Board of Ohio, and a member of both the Sports Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition and the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association.
Beecher (neé Orcutt) was a standout player for the women’s basketball team at CWRU, earning selection to the All-UAA Team her sophomore, junior, and senior years, including a pair of nods to the second team. Her name can be found throughout the program's record books, as she currently ranks 10th in school history with 551 career rebounds and 231 career assists, and 20th with 905 career points. She went on to serve as an assistant coach and an instructor of physical education at CWRU during the 2017-18 season.
