Head Coach Bill Sudeck coaching basketball Bill Sudeck was the head basketball coach at CIT and CWRU for 37years and was head cross country and track & field coach for 46years. His 329 career victories in basketball put him in elite national company. In 1993-94, he was named NCAC Coach of the Year in all three sports – basketball, cross-country and track.

Sudeck coached his cross country teams to 12 conference titles, including a 10-year period from the late 1960s to the late 70s where the team went undefeated in 66-straight dual meets. Sudeck’s track & field teams won 14 conference titles, and during his career, Sudeck coached four individual NCAA Champions. His reputation earned him and CWRU the honor of hosting the NCAA Division III National Championship in cross country in 1976 and 1977 as well as in track in 1981.

During Sudeck’s 46 years of coaching, he recruited,coached and mentored more than 30 All-Americans.
