Eli finished his career as one of the top quarterbacks in school history, earning All-America Third Team honors from the Football Gazette and D3football.com, and an honorable mention from Hewlett Packard during the 2002 season.  He was a two-time All-UAA honoree, including a First Team selection in 2002, and at the time of his induction into the Hall of Fame, ranks second in school history in career completions (490), passing yards (6,792), passing touchdowns (59) and completion percentage (60.5%).  In 2002, Eli led the Spartans to one of the top offensive seasons in the program’s history, pacing a unit that led all Division III teams in passing yards and was second in total yards, while his 326.5 passing yards per game during the year set a school record.  Eli won the team’s Bill Grice Award in 2002, presented annually to the Most Valuable Player on the team, and served as a team captain as a senior in 2003.
