    Founding Member of Spartan Club

Although John Anderson did not distinguish himself in athletics while at Case, he did make several important contributions to the athletic department at CWRU. Anderson was one of the founding members of the Spartan Club (formerly Case Reserve Athletic Club), and he served as its president from 1984-85. He also composed the music and words for the copyrighted CWRU fight song, “Fight On, Case Reserve”. The song is played at CWRU football games when the team takes the field and after every score. In 1970, he founded the John Anderson Award; this is given to the most valuable undergraduate football player and was established in memory of his father, John H. Anderson (CIT 1903).
