Leo Enggasser had a distinguished four-year career as a middlelinebacker and fullback for the CIT football team. Enggasser, amechanical engineering major, earned four letters (1955-1958) andwas the recipient of a rare Letter of Commendation from CIT’sdean at graduation for his dedication on the field. Enggasser wasalso voted the outstanding freshman and sophomore football player,and won the Les Bale award, the highest football honor, as asenior. He averaged 5.2 yards per carry during his career at CIT. Agifted athlete, he earned one letter as a member of the track teamduring his junior year. He placed fifth in the shot put at thePresidents’ Athletic Conference Championships thatseason.
