Jay Schnackel lettered in football, track and wrestling for theWestern Reserve Red Cats. On the gridiron, he was twice selected asSmall College All-America as an offensive lineman.  Aco-winner of the Willaman Award, Schnackel was signed as a freeagent by the Cleveland Browns in 1962, but his professional careerwas cut short by a preseason injury. In track, Schnackel was atwo-year All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference honoree as athrower. He also won an intramural wrestling championship.
