Hugh Emerson, a three-year letterwinner in football at CaseInstitute of Technology, was captain of the 1909 team that compileda 6-1-2 record, losing only to a powerful Michigan team, 3-0.Emerson used his dual role as a tackle and punter to earn a spot onthe mythical All-Ohio team in 1909.
