Lisa Encarnacion was an accomplished four-year player for the Spartan volleyball team and a member of the indoor and outdoor track & field squads. Encarnacion captained both teams during her junior and senior seasons. In 1991, she was an All-American in the outdoor 100-meter hurdles and became the first woman in university history to qualify for nationals in two events (100m and 400m hurdles). In 1992, she was an All-American in both indoor track (55m hurdles) and outdoor track (100m hurdles) and won multiple UAA and NCAC championships. Encarnacion set several school records during her distinguished career, two of which still stand in the outdoor 400m dash and 400m hurdles.
