James C. Wyant is a 1965 graduate of the Case Institute of Technology, receiving eight letters during his collegiate career, four in cross country and four in track and field, and serving as the captain of the cross country team during his senior year.  Since his graduation from Case, Jim has become one of the world’s most renowned optical scientists.  His affection for Coach Bill Sudeck, and his collegiate athletic experience, brought Jim back to CWRU, where he has served as Chair of the Case Western Reserve University Board of Trustees, and as a member of the Forward Thinking Campaign Committee and the Athletic Visiting Committee.  Jim has made extensive donations to the University that led to the naming of the Sudeck Track, and the construction of the Wyant Athletic and Wellness Center and ThinkBox.  Participating in athletics at Case had a lifelong impact on Jim, and he hopes that his generosity will enable other students to realize the same opportunity.
