John Barth made the high jump a CIT specialty during three winning seasons in the 1930s. Barth leapt into first place during the 1931 “Big Six” Meet, and for three-consecutive years, he was the Ohio College Champion in the high jump. He brought national fame to CIT when he finished second in the prestigious Penn Relays during the 1931 season. His CIT record stood until 1968.
