Steve Cullen was one of the most accomplishedstudent-athletes in the decorated history of CWRU cross country andtrack & field. The Wooster-native was a two-time NCAA crosscountry All-American, placing 16th in the nation in 1993 and 19thin 1994. He also earned GTE/CoSIDA second-team AcademicAll-American honors in 1995. As a cross country sophomore in 1993,Cullen placed first at the North Coast Athletic ConferenceChampionship meet and the Spartans won the team title underlegendary head coach Bill Sudeck. In 1994, he placed second in the5,000-meter run as the Spartans were outdoor track & fieldchampions of the NCAC and co-champions of the University AthleticAssociation. In 1995, Cullen won the 5,000m run and placed secondin the 10,000 meters as the Spartans were outdoor track & fieldchampions of the NCAC and co-champions of the University AthleticAssociation. Cullen was an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Awardwinner in 1995 and was named to the NCAC 20-year Anniversary CrossCountry team in 2004.
