Bobby Bott was one of the most dynamic and decorated players in the history of the CWRU football team, leading the squad's defense during its most successful era and providing a spark as a returner on special teams. Bott earned All-America honors from the AFCA following the 2008 season while also being named the UAA Defensive Player of the Year that season. He is one of 10 players in program history to earn All-UAA honors four times over a career, including All-UAA First Team selections in 2008 and 2009, and UAA Rookie of the Year honors in 2006. Bott was also a two-time All-UAA honoree for his play as a returner on special teams. At the time of his induction, his seven interceptions during the 2008 season rank as the second-most in a campaign in program history, while his 11 career interceptions are seventh all-time. In addition, he ranks second all-time with 43 passes defended. Bott received the department's Robert Del Rosa Rookie of the Year Award in 2007 and Dr. David Hutter Male Athlete of the Year Award in 2009.
