Glenn Nicholls served at Case Western Reserve University for over 25 years, including as the Vice President of Student Affairs from 1991 until his retirement in 2013, where he oversaw athletics as part of his duties. During his time at the university, he helped guide the athletics department through a period of drastic growth, including the opening of the Veale Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center, the construction of the Village at 115 Complex (which includes DiSanto Field), and the Sudeck Track dedication, while helping to guide the department into full membership in the UAA. Nicholls, who also served as the Faculty Athletics Representative from 1986-2013, was a strong supporter of women's athletics and contributed greatly to the project to build Mather Park, the only varsity facility used solely for a women's team, and both the press box at the field and the CWRU award for female athlete of the year are named in honor of him and his wife, Peggy.
