The sixth-ranked Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team placed second at the 2026 University Athletic Association Championships, falling to the top-ranked University of Chicago 4-1 in the conference championship match on Saturday morning at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

The Spartans, seeded third in the tournament, stand at 26-8 overall following the loss, while UChicago improved to 18-3 with the win.

• Saturday marked the Spartans' fifth-consecutive top-two finish at the UAA Championship, and the team's fifth top-two finish overall in the conference in program history.

• Graduate student Bryce Ware accounted for the team's only point on the day, winning the sixth singles match in straight sets.

• Graduate student Ansh Shah (no. 4 singles) was up a set, and sophomore Rowan Matorin led in the third set when play was stopped due to decision.

• Ware finished the conference tournament 2-0 in singles matches and 1-1 in doubles play.

• The Spartans now stand at 10-11 against the Maroons since 2011. This was the team's second loss to UChicago this season, after falling 5-2 in Cleveland on April 11.
