Prior to CWRU

Was a four-year member of the Northwood High School tennis team, serving as a team captain for his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons… Coached by Kayla Almazan… Helped his team reach the semifinals of the D1 CIF Southern Section Championship… Was his team’s Most Valuable Player three times and was named to the all-district team as a junior and a senior… Played at no. 1 singles during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, including a 40-8 campaign as a junior… Became the first player in school history to qualify for the third round of the Ojai Tournament… Won numerous L5 and L4 tournaments and reached the round of 16 of the Southern California Sectionals L3 tournament… Also received coaching from Josh Ortlip and Chris Lewis… Named to the Scholar-Athlete team and graduated with honors… Also played water polo in high school.
