Biography

Senior (2024-25)


Turned in a successful fall season for the Spartans before missing the entire spring due to injury… Ended the season ranked 28th nationally in singles… Went 9-4 in singles matches and 5-4 in doubles contests… Qualified for the ITA Cup after finishing as the runner-up of the ITA Fall Regional Championship singles draw, but was forced to withdraw from the event after suffering an injury in the regional title match… Was the ninth-seeded singles player in the singles draw… Seeded third in the doubles draw at the event with Anmay Devaraj and reached the round of 16 of the tournament… Ended his senior campaign with the eighth-most singles wins (74-22) and the 12th-best singles winning percentage (.771) in program history.

Junior (2023-24)


Named to the All-UAA Second Team for his play at no. 4 singles… Earned CSC Academic All-America honors for the second straight year, securing a spot on the Second Team… Also named to the Academic All-District Team… Finished the year with a 13-5 singles record, including an 11-3 mark at no. 4 singles… Went 10-3 in doubles matches, including a 6-3 record at no. 3 doubles… Won six of his final seven singles matches during the year, going 1-0 at both the UAA Championship and NCAA Championship… His NCAA singles victory came in the quarterfinals against Bowdoin… Won five of his last six doubles matches, including a 2-1 record with Daniel French in the NCAA Tournament… Selected as the UAA Athlete of the Week for men’s tennis on April 1 after going 2-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles action against Wayne State and Northwestern Ohio… Named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and received UAA Spring All-Academic honors… Holds a 65-18 record in singles play at the end of his junior season, good for the 10th-most wins and the eighth-best winning percentage (.783)… Stands at 42-12 all-time in doubles matches, good for the eighth-best winning percentage in program history (.778).

Sophomore (2022-23)


Finished the season with a 23-6 singles record, including a 13-3 mark in the no. 4 position and 18-4 overall in the spring season… Ranked 16th in the region for singles at the end of the year… Added an 18-6 mark in doubles action, going 16-5 in the spring and 8-5 as the team’s no. 3 doubles player… Won three of his four singles matches that were completed during the UAA and NCAA Championship Tournaments…Registered a 15-match doubles winning streak between October 14 and April 21… Selected to the ITA Indoor Championship All-Tournament Team for his play at no. 4 singles (2-1)… Named the UAA Athlete of the Week on March 13 after winning both his singles matches and a doubles contest during the team’s wins over Hardin Simmons and Lynn… Selected to the CSC Academic All-America Second Team after being named to the Academic All-District Team… Named an ITA Scholar-Athlete… Received UAA Spring All-Academic honors… Ended his sophomore season with a 52-13 singles record and a 32-9 doubles mark for his career.

First-year (2021-22)


Earned All-America honors for his play at singles during his first year of collegiate tennis… Qualified for the NCAA Division III Singles Championship… Selected as both the ITA Central Region and the UAA Rookie of the Year… Named to the All-UAA First Team for his play at no. 3 singles… Ended the year ranked 34th in Division III and eighth in the region for singles… Placed second at the ITA Fall Regional Singles Championships, and earned an at-large berth into the ITA Cup, reaching the quarterfinals of the Division III draw… Led all CWRU players with 29 singles wins during the year… The 29 singles wins were the second most in a single season in program history and one away from the program record… Went 29-7 overall in singles play, good for a .806 winning percentage, including a 13-2 mark in no. 3 singles matches, and a 17-2 mark in singles contests overall during dual matches… Suffered just one singles loss to a Division III opponent in the spring… Added a 14-3 doubles record, including a 5-1 mark in dual matches… Named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

Personal


Was a four-year member of the Hinsdale Central High School team, serving as a captain his junior and senior years... Coached on his high school team by John Naisbitt... Qualified for the State Championships all four years... Was a doubles semifinalist as a freshman and a singles semifinalist as a senior... Suffered just one loss his senior season at no. 1 singles... Helped lead his team to State Championships in 2018 and 2019... Named Hinsdale Central's Most Valuable Player in 2018, 2019 and 2021... Was ranked in the top-10 in the nation in doubles and 29th in singles by the USTA... Placed second in doubles at the National Indoor Championships in 2018 and fourth in singles in 2019... Graduated Summa Cum Laude... Received the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish in 2020, and was named the Mathematics Student of the Year in 2018... Was an AP Scholar with Distinction... Was also an ILMEA All-State singer and finished first in the state in ILMEA singing... Born February 8... The son of Primit and Nipa.
