Stats and Standouts

  • Seniors Anmay Devaraj and Rohan Bhat picked up their second doubles win in as many days, winning the third match 6-1. • Senior Matthew Plunkett, ranked 29th in Division III, secured a straight-set win at no. 2 singles to expand the CWRU lead to 2-0, and another straight-set win from Matorin at fifth singles put the Spartans a victory away from clinching the match.

  • Graduate student Bryce Ware would write the Spartans' ticket to Chattanooga with a three-set win in the sixth singles match to clinch the Spartans' triumph.

  • When play was stopped due to the decision, 23rd-ranked junior Santiago Salazar Garza was ahead 4-1 in the second set after dropping the first set 7-5 at no. 1 singles, Devaraj trailed 4-6, 6-3, 2-3 at no. 3 singles, and graduate student Ansh Shah split the first two sets at no. 4 singles, 6-4, 4-6.
