The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team, ranked seventh in Division III, bounced back from a loss last weekend to defeat 11th-ranked Kenyon College 5-2 at the Medical Mutual Tennis Center in Cleveland on Friday afternoon.
The Spartans improved to 20-5 overall with the win, while Kenyon saw a seven-match winning streak come to a close, dropping to 16-2 overall.

CWRU swept doubles play with wins from 17th-ranked graduate student Bryce Ware and junior Trey Lambright at no. 1 doubles, junior Santiago Salazar Garza and sophomore Leon Chen at no. 2 doubles, and seniors Rohan Bhat and Anmay Devaraj at no. 3 doubles. Salazar Garza and Chen clinched the doubles point for the Spartans with their victory.

Wins from graduate student Ansh Shah at no. 4 singles and sophomore Rowan Matorin at no. 6 singles gave CWRU a 3-1 lead.

After Kenyon picked up a win at no. 3 singles, sophomore Jon Totorica (ranked 36th in DIII) clinched the match for the Spartans with a victory at no. 5 singles.

Once the match was decided, the Owls picked up a win at no. 2 singles before junior Santiago Salazar Garza bested Alejandro Gonzalez, ranked 21st in Division III, in the no. 1 singles match.
