Draws Released for 2026 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Individual Championships

The NCAA released the draws for the 2026 Division III Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships which will take place at the Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from May 22-25 on Thursday afternoon. Case Western Reserve University senior Katalina Wang and graduate student Hannah Kassaie will be competed in both tournaments.

The partnership of Kassaie and Wang will face Kaya De Bruijn and Karina Elvestrom of Gustavus Adolphus College in the first round on Friday, May 22 at 3 p.m. The winner of the match will take on the winner of the match between second-seeded Lindsay Eisenman and Rebecca Kong of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Sewanee's Mariella Congeni and Ivy Wilson at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 in the quarterfinals. The semifinals will be on Sunday, May 24 at 1 p.m. with the national championship doubles match scheduled for 12 p.m. on Monday, May 25.

In the singles draw, neither CWRU student-athlete was seeded in the 32-player draw. In the first round, Wang will face top-seeded Matia Cristiani of Babson at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 22. The winner of the match will face either Eleni Lazaridou of Kenyon or Emory's Izabele Antanavicius at 1 p.m. later in the day in the round of 16. Kassaie is set to square off against Addison Felts of Mary Washington at 10 a.m. with the match winner facing either fifth-seeded Eliana Hanna from WashU or Ananya Sriniketh of CMS later in the day. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday, May 23 at 11 a.m. with the semifinals starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The national championship singles match will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25.

Kassaie is making her fourth career at the NCAA Individual Championships, representing Case Western Reserve in the singles and doubles draw each time. She reached the quarterfinals in singles play in 2023, the furthest run by a Spartan in program history, advanced to the second round in 2024, and fell in the first round in 2022. In doubles play, Kassaie and former Spartan Lily Mcloskey matched the furthest run by a Spartan duo by reaching the quarterfinals in 2022. The duo lost in the first round in both 2023 and 2024. Kassaie has a 3-3 singles record and 1-3 doubles record in the NCAA Tournament. This year, she is 10-3 in singles play and 13-0 in doubles matches.

Wang is making her second appearance at the NCAA Individual Championships after qualifying for the doubles tournament last year. She partnered with McCloskey to reach the quarterfinals, playing a pair of thrilling three-set matches in 2025, to tie the furthest run in program history. This season, Wang is 22-4 in singles play and 24-7 in doubles play. The duo of Wang and Kassaie are 12-0 as a partnership during the 2025-26 season.
