The top-ranked Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins on the team's final day in Florida, defeating 23rd-ranked Southwestern University 9-0 and 40th-ranked Haverford College 9-0 on Friday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
The Spartans improve to 12-2 on the season and have won their past 30 regular season matches against Division III opponents. The Pirates drop to 2-4 while the Fords drop to 4-3.

In the early match against Haverford, CWRU swept the doubles matches with wins from graduate student Jonathan Powell and junior James Hopper at first doubles, sophomores Sahil Dayal and Vishwa Aduru at second doubles, and senior Chaitanya Aduru and junior Michael Sutanto at third doubles. Powell and Hopper started the match with an 8-0 victory. Dayal and Vishwa Aduru followed with an 8-1 win, and Chaitanya Aduru and Sutanto finished the sweep with an 8-5 win.
In singles play, first-year Casey Hishinuma started with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Stefan Johnson at third singles. Sutanto followed with a 6-0, 6-3 win at second singles over Andreas Wingert, clinching the match victory for the Spartans. Junior Diego Maza claimed a 6-1, 6-2 win at sixth singles, first-year Ansh Shah added a 6-3, 6-4 win at first singles, senior Max Vicario triumphed 6-1, 6-2 at sixth singles, and graduate student Anthony Kanam completed the sweep with a 6-3, 7-5 win at fourth singles.

The Spartans started with a sweep of the doubles matches against the Pirates. Hopper and Powell won 8-3 at first doubles, Vishwa Aduru and Dayal prevailed 8-5 at second doubles, and Chaitanya Aduru and Sutanto secured an 8-1 win at third doubles.
In singles play, Hopper, the sixth-ranked singles player in Division III, won a hard-fought 4-6, 6-0, 10-6 first singles match over Hunter Bajoit, the 25th-ranked singles player. Vishwa Aduru, ranked 32nd in Division III and playing second singles, and Sutanto, playing fourth singles, both secured 6-0, 6-0 sweeps. Shah lost just one point at third singles, winning 6-1, 6-0, and Chaitanya Aduru prevailed 6-1, 6-1 at sixth singles. Powell bested Oscar Roy at fifth singles 6-1, 6-3 to complete the sweep.
Case Western Reserve will be off from competition until Friday, March 25 when the team hosts Ohio Wesleyan and Wittenberg in Cleveland.
