Ware Secures UAA Athlete of the Week Honor

Case Western Reserve University graduate student Bryce Ware was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for men's tennis after winning both his singles and doubles matches to contribute a pair of points to the sixth-ranked Spartans' 5-2 upset win over fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon on Saturday night.

Ware teamed with junior Trey Lambright to secure the team's only doubles win, besting Akshay Joshi and Ian Miller 6-3 in the no. 1 doubles match. He later claimed the first singles victory of the day for CWRU, tying the match at 1-1 with a 6-3, 6-1 win at no. 6 singles over Braden Chavez.

Ware improved to 9-5 in singles matches and is 24-7 in doubles matches, including a 19-6 record with Lambright at the region's third-ranked duo. This was his second UAA Athlete of the Week honor of the season.

The Spartans improved to 24-7 with the victory on Saturday, the team's sixth over a nationally-ranked opponent this season. CWRU will now turn its attention to the 2026 UAA Championships in Altamonte Springs, Florida, from Thursday, April 23, to Saturday, April 25.
