The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team continued its 2021 spring season this weekend with a 9-0 win over Oberlin College at the Hunsinger Courts in Oberlin, Ohio on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans improved to 3-0 on the season with the victory.
In doubles action, senior Mira Amin and junior Sneha Karnam won by default over Oberlin at third doubles, while senior Nicole Cardwell and first-year Pallavi Goculdas claimed an 8-0 victory over Francesca Kern and Maja Shaw Todorovic in the first doubles match. Sophomore Nina Hoog and first-year Katherine Wang rounded out the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win in the second doubles contest over Hannah Keidan and Amelia Bronfman.
In singles action, junior Eliza Georgiades and first-year Caitlyn Hsu each earned wins by default at sixth and fifth singles, respectively. Senior Madeleine Paolucci bested Kern 8-1 at first singles and Goculdas claimed an 8-0 victory over Shaw Todorovic at second singles. Also claiming singles wins for the Spartans on Saturday were first-year Chloe Ku at third singles, 8-1, over Keidan and junior Nidhi Jha at fourth singles, 8-3, over Bronfman.
Case Western Reserve will be back in action on Saturday, April 24 when the team hosts the College of Wooster at the Carlton Courts. The match is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.
