31st-Ranked Spartans Edged by 27th-ranked Denison

The 31st-ranked Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team suffered a setback on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 7-2 decision to 27th-ranked Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

The Spartans' two wins during the match came at first and third singles. Sophomore Madeleine Paolucci defeated Denison's Lauren Hawley 6-1, 6-3 at first singles, while sophomore Mira Amin earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Alex Cash at third singles. Paolucci improved to a team-best 15-5 in singles play with the win and Amin now has an 11-8 overall record in singles play.

The loss dropped the Spartans to 5-7 on the season. The Big Red raised its record to 8-6 on the year with the victory.

Next up for the Spartans will be a 4:00 p.m. match against Oberlin College at the Carlton Courts on Saturday, April 6th.
