SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – Despite claiming the final three singles points, the No. 27 nationally ranked Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team fell, 6-3, to No. 9 Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon at the Cleveland Skating Club.
The Tartans (13-3) took all three doubles points and won the first three singles matches before the Spartans (7-7) claimed the last three points.
Sophomore Surya Khadilkar (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Hawken School) won on fourth singles by scores of 6-3, 6-4, while freshman Sarah Berchuck (Dallas, Texas/Baylor School & Suffield Academy) and sophomore Michelle Djohan (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake) won at No. 5 and No. 6 by counts of 6-2, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-4, respectively.
CWRU plays at home for the final time this season tomorrow (Sunday, April 6) against Ohio Wesleyan University at Carlton Courts. The match is set to begin at noon.
