The Case Western Reserve University women's swimming and diving team turned in a successful 2015-16 campaign, going 10-1-1 in dual meets, breaking four program records, and consistently ranking in the College Swimming Coaches' Association of America (CSCAA) Top-25 throughout the year.

All four of the program records fell at the 2016 University Athletic Association Championships, hosted by the University of Rochester, with freshman Suhan Mestha at the center of each of the four.  Competing at her first collegiate championship meet, Mestha set individual CWRU records with a time of 56.99 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke and 2:03.49 in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing fourth in the former and sixth in the latter.  In addition, Mestha swam the leadoff leg of both the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:36.42) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:30.77), teaming with senior Rebecca Pakradooni, sophomore Inez Moore and sophomore Jennifer Eurich in each to set school records.

Pakradooni also qualified for the 'A' finals in a pair of events at the UAA Championships, finishing eighth in both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly.  Mestha finished the weekend with NCAA 'B' cuts in three individual events – the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley (2:07.36) – and as the leadoff leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay (52.02 split in the 100 free), while Pakradooni added a provisional NCAA time in the 100-yard butterfly (57.01).  The Spartan women totaled 630 points over the four-day meet, finishing seventh at the conference championships.

During the course of the season, the Spartans were ranked as high as 19^th in Division III and sixth in the Central Region in the CSCAA polls, and entered the NCAA Championships ranked 21^st in the country.

Earlier in the year, Case Western Reserve won the Wooster Invitational in December, marking the first time the Spartans have won the event.  The Spartans totaled 1,563 points to finish ahead of the other 10 teams, and outscored second-place Gannon University by over 300 points.  Spartan swimmers notched three first-place finishes at the meet, with Mestha, freshman Alli Drohosky, Pakradooni and Eurich winning the 400-yard medley relay, Mestha, Pakradooni, freshman Kelsey Holmberg and Eurich topping the field in the 800-yard freestyle relay, and Mestha claiming victories in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke.  In other championship-style meets during the year, the Spartans placed fifth at the Midwest Invitational, led by sophomore Jenna Krynicki, who earned UAA Athlete of the Week honors for her performance at the meet.

The Spartans turned in a solid dual meet campaign, winning 10 of their 12 meets during the campaign, including a perfect 4-0 record at home during the year to extend their home winning streak to eight meets, dating back to the 2014-15 season.  The Spartans racked up wins against John Carroll, Clarion, Gannon, Wooster, Oberlin, Grove City, Allegheny, Ohio Northern and Baldwin Wallace during the year, while tying Hillsdale College, a Division II program.  The team's only loss during the season came to Carnegie Mellon, another highly-ranked Division III program.

Along with Mestha and Pakradooni, other Spartan swimmers to record top-10 times in school history in an event included Eurich in the 50 Free (24.26, fourth-best in CWRU history) and 100 Free (53.51, eighth-best in CWRU history), sophomore Cassandra Laios in the 50 Free (24.67, 10^th-best in CWRU history), Holmberg in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:11.28, seventh-best in CWRU history), freshman Madeleine Farnham in the 100 Fly (59.63, seventh-best in CWRU history) and 200 Fly (2:11.29, sixth-best in CWRU history), senior Rachael Loek in the 100 Fly (59.63, seventh-best in CWRU history) and 200 Fly (2:11.80, seventh-best in CWRU history), freshman Bhavya Kumaran in the 100 Back (59.95, third-best in CWRU history) and 200 Back (2:08.24, third-best in CWRU history), Drohosky in the 100 Breast (1:08.34, fifth-best in CWRU history), freshman Alexa Simoneau in the 100 Breast (1:09.47, 10^th-best in CWRU history) and 200 Breast (2:30.64, 10^th-best in CWRU history) and junior Selena Mufti in the 400-yard individual medley (4:44.90, 10^th-best in CWRU history).  Sophomore Brooke Hortness was the team's top diver, recording scores of 307.60 in the one-meter dive (11 dives) and 327.30 in the three-meter dive (11 dives) at the 2016 UAA Championships.

In addition to their success in the pool, the Spartans were recognized by the CSCAA as a Scholar All-America Team, based on their team grade point average of 3.40 during the spring semester.  Eleven members of the women's swimming and diving team – Abigail Dessart, Jackie Dowling, Eurich, Kaitlyn Gorski, Hortness, Taylor Johnson, Krynicki, Laios, Loek Carolyn Manuck and Mufti – received UAA Winter All-Academic recognition during the 2015-16 campaign.
