Miller Breaks Second School Record on Day Two of UAA Championship

ATLANTA – Case Western Reserve University freshman Mary Katherine Miller (Baton Rouge, La./Saint Joseph's Academy) broke her second school record of the weekend on day two of the 2015 University Athletic Association Championship at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center.

The Spartans rank seventh of eight teams competing with 437 points. Host and No. 1 nationally ranked Emory University is the team leader with 1,385 points, while No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis ranks second at 876.

Miller swam a 4:33.51 during the 400-yard individual medley prelims then knocked her time down to 4:30.59 during finals for a fifth-place overall finish. Much like her performance in the 200 IM yesterday, Miller broke a record previously held by 2014 graduate Sara Tillie (4:32.18).

Also reaching the podium individually was freshman Ellie Wilson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills), who placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:05.09.

The Spartans conclude the weekend tomorrow (Saturday, February 14) with 10:00 a.m. prelims and 5:30 p.m. finals.
