Dillione Finishes Third in NCAA Championship 200 Fly, Ends Career as Four-Time All-American

INDIANAPOLIS – Case Western Reserve University senior captain Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) put an exclamation point on her career as a Spartan with a third-place performance in the 200-yard butterfly at the 2014 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship at IUPUI Natatorium.

Dillione ends her career as a four-time All-American with two finishes each in the 100 and 200 fly.

University Athletic Association student-athletes accounted for the top three spots in the event with freshman Abby Erdmann of the University of Chicago claiming the national title in 2:01.35. Dillione, who entered the event seeded first, finished second during morning prelims and third in the finals in 2:03.02. That mark bettered Dillione's school record in the 200 fly.

Yesterday, Dillione placed seventh in the 100 fly. She earned All-America honors in both of her signature events last season, becoming the program's first All-American since 2007. She holds the school record in both the 100 (55.64) and 200 fly, and she is a member of two school-record relay teams.

Dillione has also excelled in the classroom during her time at CWRU. She is a three-time UAA All-Academic honoree as a biology (pre-med) major and was a CSCAA Scholar All-American in 2013.
