CHICAGO – Select members of the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming & diving team competed at the Midwest Invitational Last Chance Meet on Friday and Saturday, February 22-23, at Myers-McLoraine Pool on the campus of the University of Chicago.
The Spartan women finished fourth with 197 points while NCAA Division I University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee won the team title with 597 points. No. 4 nationally-ranked Emory University claimed second with 360 points, and No. 10 Chicago placed third with 224.
Freshman Rebecca Pakradooni (Augusta, Ga. /Lakeside) posted the top individual finish with a third-place performance of 1:57.20 in the 200-yard freestyle.
While the season will end for most of the team, junior captain Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) is projected to qualify for the 2013 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship that will be held on March 20-23 at the Conroe Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
Dillione broke her own school record and won a conference championship in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:03.20 last weekend at the University Athletic Association Championship. Entering this weekend, Dillione ranked fourth in the nation in the event.
