BEREA, Ohio – A small contingent from the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming & diving team concluded the dual meet portion of the 2012-13 schedule with a 122-108 victory at local-rival Baldwin Wallace University on Friday evening inside the BW Natatorium.
The Spartans finish at 8-9 overall in duals heading into the University Athletic Association Championship on February 13-16 in Chicago. The Yellow Jackets fall to 4-8.
Junior Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) and sophomore Abby Glenn (Novi, Mich./Novi) each won two individual events to lead the Spartan scoring.
Dillione won the 50-yard freestyle (25.37) and paced of a trio of Spartan top-three finishers in the 50 butterfly (27.54). Freshman Nicole Thompson (Great Falls, Mont./C.M. Russell) swam to a second-place finish (27.12), and sophomore Sarah Mastrandrea (East Amherst, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) was third (27.15) in the event.
Glenn led the field home in the 1,000 free (11:22.12) and the 500 free (5:33.27).
Senior Krysta Payne (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) also took home a victory in the 200 individual medley (2:20.56).
In the final event of the day, the Spartans were victorious in the 200 free relay with the quartet of Thompson, Mastrandrea and freshmen Rachael Loek (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) and Rebecca Pakradooni (Augusta, Ga./Lakeside) finishing in a time of 1:44.74.
individually, Pakradooni took home an event victory in the 100 free (58.25).
