Dillione, Glenn, Tillie and Pakradooni Each Double Winners as Spartan Women Defeat ONU, 175-123, on Seniors' Day

CLEVELAND – Four Spartans won two individual events each as the Case Western University women's swimming & diving team defeated Ohio Northern University, 175-123, on Seniors' Day inside the Veale Natatorium.

The Spartans improve to 7-9 overall in duals this season with one left on the schedule. The loss drops Ohio Northern to 7-6.  

Prior to the meet, CWRU honored its four swimming & diving senior student-athletes, including senior Krysta Payne (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) on the women's side.  Payne highlighted her final home meet with a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.64 and a second-place showing in the 200 breaststroke (2:38.07).

Junior captain Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North), sophomore Abby Glenn (Novi, Mich./Novi), junior Sara Tillie (Fallston, Md./Fallston) and freshman Rebecca Pakradooni (Augusta,Ga./Lakeside) all won two individual events for Case.

Dillione took first in the 50 freestyle (24.95) and the 100 butterfly (59.33).

Glenn touched the wall first in the 100 free (11:15.21) and 500 free (5:26.35).

Tillie won the 200 free in 2:01.21 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:35.59.

Pakradooni won the 200 butterfly in 2:14.93 and the 100 free in 55.69.

Other individual wins came from sophomore Brianna Cain (Perry, Ohio/Perry) in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.21) and junior Kathryn Madalena (Rockville Centre, N.Y/South Side) in the 200 individual medley (2:19.39).

In the relay competition, Case opened the afternoon with a first-place time of 4:08.04 in the 400 medley behind the team of freshman Rachael Loek (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South), Tillie, Pakradooni and Dillione. Case ended the day with a first-place time of 3:42.95 in the 400 freestyle relay behind Tillie, freshman Alison Thirion (Cortland, Ohio/Warren G. Harding), Pakradooni and Dillione.

The Spartans conclude the regular season next Friday, February 1 at cross-town rival Baldwin Wallace University at 6:00 p.m. That meet will be the final tune-up for the UAA Championship on February 13-16 in Chicago.
