Five members of the Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team received All-University Athletic Association honors, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Graduate student Hannah Kassaie, seniors Katalina Wang and Ellior Rose, junior Katie Wong, and first-year Atra Biria have been honored by the UAA.
Kassaie was named to the First Team for her play at first singles and first doubles, Wang earned First Team recognition at first doubles and Second Team honors at second singles, Rose and Wong were named to the Second Team for their performances at second doubles, and Biria received honorable mention at fourth singles.
Kassaie, who returned for her fourth year of eligibility as a graduate student, matches the program record with her seventh and eighth career All-UAA selections, tying former Spartans Lily McCloskey (2021-25) and Madeleine Paolucci (2017-21). She is the first player in program history to eight All-UAA First Team selections. This season, she is 9-2 in singles play, with all 11 matches coming at first singles, and 11-0 in doubles play, including a 10-0 mark at first doubles. The 2024 UAA Player of the Year, Kassaie has set program records for career singles wins (77) and overall wins (151) and ranks third in program history in career doubles wins (74).
Wang earned her fourth and fifth career All-UAA honors and her first career All-UAA First Team selection this year. She was previously named to the All-UAA Second Team in 2025 and 2023 and received honorable mention in 2023. This season, she is 22-4 in singles play, the third most wins in a single season in program history, including a 6-1 mark at first singles and 7-2 record at second singles. In doubles play, Wang has a record of 22-7 this year, including a 13-3 mark at first doubles. She has not lost a doubles match with Kassaie and has won 12 of her last 13 doubles matches. In four seasons, Wang ranks third in program history with 134 total wins, third in singles wins (62), and fourth in doubles wins (72).
Rose received her first career All-UAA honors after her breakout senior campaign. She has an 11-3 record in doubles play in 2026, including a perfect 8-0 mark at second doubles. Rose and Wong are 5-0 in second doubles matches this season and 6-1 overall as a partnership, winning their last six matches. Rose has added a 4-1 mark in singles play this year, with wins in the third, fifth, and sixth positions. In four seasons, Rose has a 28-11 doubles record and 22-3 singles record.
Wong earned her first career All-UAA honor in her second season as a Spartan. During her first year of collegiate tennis at Skidmore, Wong was named to the All-Liberty League Second Team in doubles play and was an All-LL singles honorable mention. This season, she is 20-10 in doubles play, including an 8-4 mark in the second position. Wong and Rose won all three of their doubles matches at the UAA Championship, including a 6-2 upset of the ninth-ranked national pair from Emory. In singles play, Wong is 11-11 with a 5-3 mark at third singles. In two seasons at CWRU, Wong has a single record of 23-17 and a doubles mark of 26-17.
Biria received All-UAA accolades for the first time in her career. In her first season of collegiate tennis, she has a 13-6 mark in singles matches, including a 4-2 record at fourth singles. She has added nine wins in doubles play. At the UAA Championship, Biria won the only singles match she finished, a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Sanjana Karnam of Rochester in a 4-0 CWRU victory.
The Spartans, who finished fifth in the Association with a 2-1 record, were selected to the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship for the fourth time in program history after ending the regular season with a record of 12-6. CWRU will face Albright in the First Round on Friday, May 8 in Baltimore on the campus of Johns Hopkins University.
