Case Western Reserve University junior Trey Lambright and graduate student Bryce Ware saw their run through the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Doubles Championship come to an end on Sunday afternoon, as the duo suffered a straight-set loss in the quarterfinals of the draw in Chattanooga.

Lambright and Ware, seeded third overall in the draw, fell to unseeded and nationally 12th-ranked Gage Gohl and Tyler Haddorff of Gustavus Adolphus College 6-2, 6-3. Both pairings held serve until the Gusties duo broke the Spartans at 2-2 and went on to win four consecutive games to clinch the first set. It was a similar story in the second set, where Gohl and Haddorff broke another serve at 2-2 and went on to win four of the final five games to secure the victory and advance in the tournament.

Lambright and Ware, ranked sixth in Division III entering the draw, finished the season with a 23-10 overall record. The duo claimed All-America honors earlier in the week by virtue of being a top-four seed in the draw.

The loss officially wrapped up the 2025-26 campaign for the Spartans. CWRU reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Championship for the fifth time in the last six years and placed second at the 2026 University Athletic Association Championship. Three Spartans - Lambright, Ware, and junior Santiago Salazar Garza - claimed All-America honors during the campaign.

Sunday's match was the final athletic event of the 2025-26 academic year for Case Western Reserve University athletics.
