The draws for the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Individual Championships have been announced, with junior Santiago Salazar Garza set to compete in the singles draw and junior Trey Lambright and graduate student Bryce Ware in the doubles tournament, starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Salazar Garza, unseeded in the draw and ranked 25th among Division III players, will begin play on Saturday against Babson's Edward Wang (ranked 30th nationally) in the round of 32. Should he advance, he will face either second-seeded Michael Melnikov of Swarthmore or Colin Scruggs of WashU in the round of 16, also on Saturday. The quarterfinals will be held on Sunday, May 24, followed by the semifinals on Monday, May 25, and the championship match on Tuesday, May 26.
This is the first NCAA individual tournament appearance for Salazar Garza, an All-University Athletic Association Second Team selection. He has played out of the no. 1 spot in the singles lineup for CWRU for most of the spring, tallying an overall record of 22-13 for the campaign.
Lambright and Ware will be the third-seeded duo in the doubles draw and will take on Drew Goldman and Jay Mallampati of Pomona-Pitzer (ranked fourth nationally) in the round of 16 on Saturday. Should they advance, they will face either Gage Gohl and Tyler Haddorff of Gustavus Adolphus (ranked 12th) or Colin Fox and Jeremy Sieben of WashU (ranked 13th) in the quarterfinals on Sunday. The semifinals will be on Monday, followed by the championship match on Tuesday.
Lambright and Ware, who are also making their first NCAA individual appearances of their careers, are 22-9 as a pair this year, including a 17-8 mark in no. 1 doubles contests. The pair earned All-UAA First Team recognition for their play during the year and won both their NCAA quarterfinal and semifinal matches earlier in the week.
