Two Student-Athletes Compete at ONU Last Chance Meet

The Case Western Reserve University women's track and field team was represented by two student-athletes at the Polar Bear Qualifier hosted by Ohio Northern University on Saturday at the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse in Ada, Ohio.

Senior thrower Michelle Lee and senior runner Arianna Holbrook used the meet to attempt to better their marks in a pair of events in a last chance attempt at qualifying for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Lee placed third in the weight throw with a toss of 16.07 meters. The mark fell short of her personal-best toss of 16.58 meters earlier this season at the Ed Finnigan Invitational, which ranks 39th in Division III.

Holbrook finished second in the 800-meter run in 2:16.25. The time was barely slower than her school record time of 2:16.18 ran at the 2026 University Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships which, after converting for track size, ranked 48th in Division III.

Individuals with the 20 best times or marks in an event and relays with the 12 best times nationally will qualify for the national meet which will be held from Friday, March 13 to Saturday, March 14 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama. The official list of qualifiers will be released by the NCAA at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday.
