Despite collecting 10 hits in the game, the Case Western Reserve University baseball team struggled to score on Sunday, dropping its series finale 8-2 against Brandeis University at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland.
The two teams split the opening series of conference play, with each ending the weekend with a 2-2 University Athletic Association record. The Spartans fell to 13-9 overall, while Brandeis improved to 9-8 following Sunday's action.

Arterburn started the inning by beating out a base hit to short, and graduate student first baseman Eli Westrick followed with a bunt single. A walk to Stillson loaded the bases, and two runs crossed the plate when the next batter, sophomore third baseman Calvin Gelle, beat out a potential double play at first base.
