Case Western Reserve University graduate student infielder Eli Westrick recorded four hits on Saturday to reach the 200-hit milestone for his career, as the Spartans split a doubleheader against John Carroll University at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland, winning the first game 19-5 before losing the second contest 11-0.
The Spartans moved to 10-6 with the split, while the Blue Streaks now stand at 10-5.

Westrick, who entered the day four hits shy of 200 for his career, went four-of-seven with two runs, a double, and two stolen bases. After recording the first 182 hits of his career as an undergraduate at the College of Wooster, he now has 18 hits this year and is leading the team with a .474 batting average.

Sophomore third baseman Calvin Gelle added four hits in seven at-bats and five runs batted in over the two contests.

Junior pitcher/ designated hitter Tyler Stillson improved to 4-0 with a 1.64 ERA, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts, while going three-for-four with four runs, a walk, and two doubles at the plate.

Sophomore left-handed pitcher Jeff Radinsky earned his first save of the season in the game, entering a two-run game with the bases loaded, and proceeding to pitch the next three and a third scoreless innings, giving up one hit and four walks, and striking out a career-best eight hitters.

A pair of two-out hits in the bottom of the first gave the Spartans an early lead, as Stillson doubled and first-year left fielder Tucker Greer followed with a hit to give CWRU a 1-0 advantage.

The Blue Streaks scored three runs in the top of the third with five consecutive two-out singles, taking a 3-1 lead.

CWRU had a quick response, sending eight batters to the plate in the bottom of the third and scoring four runs to go back ahead 5-3. With one out in the frame, Westrick started a stretch of six consecutive hits by the Spartans with a base hit and scored a batter later on a double by first-year second baseman James O'Connor. CWRU tied the game with two outs on a base hit up the middle by Greer and then grabbed the lead on a double from Gelle. Trout extended the team's lead to 5-3 with a base hit that scored Gelle.

The Spartans added on a run in the fourth with an RBI groundout by O'Connor, taking a 6-3 advantage over the Blue Streaks.

John Carroll made it a one-run game with two runs in the top of the sixth, but the Spartans responded again with three in the bottom of the inning, scoring on a bases-loaded walk to Greer and a two-run single by Gelle, making it a 9-5 game.

CWRU added on 10 runs in the bottom of the eighth, including three on a bases-loaded triple by Trout and a solo home run by senior catcher Sean Donahue, to go ahead by 14 heading into the ninth.

John Carroll starter Frank Freeman suffered the loss in the game, dropping to 1-2 on the year.

CWRU loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth on singles from Gelle and senior center fielder Jasiah Harris, and a walk issued to junior shortstop Nate Arterburn, but could not score, and the Blue Streaks added on two runs in the top of the sixth to take a 10-0 lead.
