Wells Receives Second UAA Diver of the Week Honors

Case Western Reserve University first-year diver Ryan Wells of the men's swimming and diving team receiving University Athletic Association Men's Diver of the Week honors, based on his performance over the weekend.

Wells won all four of his events last weekend for the Spartans in a pair of dual meets. On Saturday, during a 229-64 home win over Oberlin College at Veale Natatorium in Cleveland, Wells placed first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 289.90 and won the 1-meter dive with a score of 279.35. Both scores were high enough for qualification to the NCAA regional diving meet. On Friday night in a 153-143 road loss to fifth-ranked Kenyon at the Steen Aquatic Center in Gambier, Ohio, Wells won the 3-meter dive with a score of 259.28 and the 1-meter dive with a score of 240.45.

Wells earned his second UAA Diver of the Week honors this season. The Spartans moved to 5-3 with the dual meet split and will head to John Carroll University for their final dual meet of the season next week, facing the Blue Streaks on Saturday, January 31 at 1 p.m.
