Case Western Reserve University senior Lily McCloskey and junior Katalina Wang were officially named 2025 Division III Women's Tennis All-Americans by the ITA in a release on Thursday afternoon.
The duo advanced to the Quarterfinal Round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Doubles Championship in May to receive the honor. It is the fourth All-America recognition of McCloskey's career (all for doubles) and first of Wang's career. The four honors are the third most in program history. Wang became the sixth all-time All-American for the CWRU women's tennis team.
McCloskey and Wang bested Kylie Schaefer and Raine Weis from Christopher Newport 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in the first round of the doubles championship, matching the furthest run in program history for any Spartan partnership. The pair finished the season with a record of 18-6 and were ranked 22nd nationally and third regionally in the final rankings released by the ITA.
McCloskey ended her doubles career with a record of 85-24, the most wins in program history. Wang has gone 50-24 in doubles matches during her three seasons on the team, tied for the 13th-most victories by a Spartan.
The two All-Americans give CWRU a total of 24 across all sports during the 2024-25 academic year, the second-most in department history and one shy of the Spartan record set during the 2023-24 academic year.
The CWRU women's tennis team finished the 2024-25 season with a record of 13-7 in dual matches.
