2025 NCAA Men’s Tennis Doubles Championship Preview

Following a berth in the national team championship match, two members of the Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team will remain in Claremont, California, for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Doubles Championship this weekend.

Junior Anmay Devaraj and senior Casey Hishinuma will compete in the 16-team doubles draw for a chance at a national championship. Both members of the Spartan are both making their national championship debuts.

The Spartan partnership, seeded third in the draw, will face Drew Goldman and Jay Mallampati of Pomona-Pitzer at approximately 6 p.m. ET on Friday at the Biszantz Tennis Center on the campus of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Scripps Colleges. The Sagehen duo is 11-6 on the season and ranked sixth by the ITA nationally. The winner of the match will take on the winner of the matchup between Swarthmore's Michael Melnikov and Utham Koduri (ranked fifth nationally by the ITA) and Wisconsin-Whitewater's Reuben Giorgio and Theo Billson (ranked ninth nationally) in the quarterfinal on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET. Semifinal matches will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. ET with the national championship match scheduled for Monday, May 26 at 3 p.m. ET.

Devaraj and Hishinuma will enter the championship ranked 13th nationally by the ITA. The duo, which was named to the All-University Athletic Association First Team earlier this year, has gone 15-5 this season, with all 20 results in dual matches. The partnership has not faced its first round opponent, though the CWRU pairing lost 6-3 to Koduri and Melnikov on February 21 at the ITA Team Indoor Championship.

Case Western Reserve has won the Division III doubles title three times in its history. In 2014, Eric Klawitter and Christopher Krimbill claimed the first championship for the program. James Hopper won his first doubles championship in 2022 with partner Jonathan Powell and repeated in 2023 with partner Vishwa Aduru, the most recent individual title in CWRU Athletics history.
