Four Spartans Named to Division III All-Ohio Women’s Soccer Teams

Four members of the Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team were named to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Division III All-Ohio Teams, as announced by the organization this month. Juniors Jamie Goldfarb and Molly Shamah received both All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio honors, and juniors Ceci Dapino and Alexis Sassower earned All-Ohio honors.

Goldfarb was named to the All-University Athletic Association Second Team, All-Ohio Third Team, and Academic All-Ohio First Teams this season. She played in 15 contests in 2024, making 12 starts, and scored three times during the season with all three goals winning games for CWRU. Goldfarb tallied the game-winning goal in the team's 4-3 postseason win over Skidmore on November 16 and won games against Ohio Wesleyan and Kenyon. She finished the season with seven points on three goals and one assist. Across three seasons, Goldfarb has 20 points on eight goals and four assists, including five game-winning goals. This is her second career All-Ohio honor after receiving Second Team selection last season. Goldfarb has a 3.96 cumulative grade point average as a business management and economics double major.

Shamah received All-Ohio Third Team, Academic All-Ohio First Team, Academic All-District, and All-UAA Second Team honors in 2024. She started 18 games for CWRU this season and led the team in scoring during the campaign. Shamah found the back of the net eight times and added an assist for 17 points and scored three times in UAA play with a goal during the team's 4-3 victory over Skidmore in the NCAA Tournament. She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over Baldwin Wallace on September 11, scoring both Spartan goals for her first career multi-goal game. In three seasons, Shamah has 23 points on 10 goals and three assists, appearing in 37 games. A neuroscience major with a 3.67 cumulative GPA, these are her first career All-Ohio honors.

Dapino, an All-Ohio Third Team selection and Academic All-District selection, started every game for the Spartans, playing 72% of the team's minutes. She scored three goals and added four assists for 10 points and struck for the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Capital on September 21. Dapino led the team with 55 shots this season, including 19 on goal. In her career, she has nine goals and nine assists, appearing in 55 games while making 47 starts. This is her first career All-Ohio honor.

Sassower, an All-Region Fourth Team and All-Ohio Third Team selection, started 18 of the team's 19 games and led the squad with 18 points on seven goals and four assists. She scored twice in a victory over Mount Union on September 18 for her first career multi-goal game and recorded a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over Chicago on October 25. Her 20 shots on goal were tied for the team lead in 2024. In three seasons, Sassower has scored nine goals and contributed seven assists in 38 games, including 36 starts. This is the first All-Ohio honor of her career.

The CWRU women's soccer team ended the season with a 1-0 loss to fifth-ranked Messiah in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship. The Spartans reached the second round of the postseason for the fourth consecutive season and concluded the campaign with a record of 9-5-5.
