Members of the Case Western Reserve University men's and women's swimming teams competed in three events on the first day of the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Wednesday.
Junior Peter Meng had the best finish among Spartan individuals on the first day, placing 25th in the 200 IM with a time of 1:50.26.
For the women's team, the 200 Medley Relay of juniors Erica Rice, Kate Menzer, and Kelly Vann and sophomore Eliza Dixon finished 25th in the event with a season-best time of 1:46.09.
Sophomore John Drumm placed 30th in the men's 500 Free, touching the wall at 4:35.11.
The Spartans will compete in six events on the second day of the NCAA Championships tomorrow with preliminary action scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and finals scheduled for 6 p.m.
Dixon, Vann, junior Gabriella Chambers, and sophomore Claire Kozma will race in the 200 Free Relay; Meng will race in the 400 IM; Drumm and Kozma will race in the 100 Fly; Chambers, Kozma, Menzer, and Rice will race in the 400 Medley Relay; and junior Abigail Wilkov will participate in the 1-meter dive.
